November is American Diabetes Month


November is American Diabetes Month.  Diabetes is an epidemic in the United States.  According to the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC), over 37 million Americans have diabetes and face its devastating consequences.  In Missouri, approximately 546,090 people, or 11.4% of the adult populations, have diagnosed diabetes.  An additional 139,000 Missourians have diabetes but don't know it.
