Missouri Short-Term Occupational Projections  2022-2024

New Missouri occupational projections for 2022-2024 estimate employment growth of 1.7 percent over the period. Occupational groups projected to have the fastest two-year growth rates are Construction and Extraction, Healthcare Support, and Personal Care and Service. In the week ending March 16, 2024, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 210,000, a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week's revised level.

Missouri Economic Research and Information Center

Missouri nonfarm payroll employment increased by 7,800 jobs in February 2024, and the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged from January's 3.3 percent. Private industry employment increased by 6,500 jobs and government employment increased by 1,300 jobs. Over the year, there was an increase of 46,000 jobs from February 2023 to February 2024, and the unemployment rate increased by half of a percentage point, from 2.8 percent in February 2023 to 3.3 percent in February 2024.
